A Korean salon visit has become a trip highlight in its own right — a soft layered cut, a color you can't get at home, or a long head spa after a day of walking. The tricky part for visitors is finding a salon where you can explain what you want and know the price before you sit down.
Below are nine salons that take international guests through Creatrip, a Korea-only booking platform, compared on price, deposit, languages and hours. Every detail comes from each salon's booking page on October 18, 2026. Prices are shown in US dollars on the site and change with the exchange rate.

Prices are the discounted USD prices shown on Creatrip on October 18, 2026. Ratings combine Creatrip and Google reviews as shown on each page. Language badges are the salons' own; several pages add that English is "basic" and staff may use a translation app. LEEKAJA has one Chinese-speaking staff member, who is off on Tuesdays and Sundays. Deposits are the amounts shown when booking; JUNO's pages also mention ₩10,000 in their notes, so check the amount at checkout.
Which salon fits you?

Just a cut, and you want to be understood — SOONSIKI (Hongdae) or The Day's Hair. Both start around $25 for a cut with shampoo and styling, and both list English. The Day's Hair says all its staff speak English and stays open until 10pm every day, which helps if you're out sightseeing all afternoon. SOONSIKI's Hongdae flagship is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Staying in Myeongdong — JUNO Hair or LEEKAJA. JUNO's Myeongdong Street branch has the most reviews of any salon here, and its page says staff can help in basic English, Chinese and Japanese. Its K-layered cut is $33.71 and color starts at $101.14. LEEKAJA is a few minutes from Myeongdong Station and does a 40-minute relaxing head spa for $65.93; its page suggests booking after 1pm, as mornings fill up. LEEKAJA lists Chinese, but it has only one Chinese-speaking staff member, who is off on Tuesdays and Sundays.
Color, bleach or balayage — #CCONTE Seogyo. It calls itself a hair color specialist, has an English price list, and lists highlights from $284.70.
Seongsu or Gangnam — ONYAD, SOONSIKI Seongsu or #CCONTE Apgujeong. ONYAD is one minute from Seoul Forest Station exit 2 and closed on Tuesdays. SOONSIKI Seongsu is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Each salon names its menus differently, so compare the details on the booking page. "With cut" means the cut is included. Prices are for short hair: most of these salons add a length surcharge for color and perms (The Day's Hair lists +₩20,000 to +₩80,000), paid at the salon. SOONSIKI's color, perm and spa prices include a review discount (up to 38%); its page says you pay the regular price if you don't leave a review, and cuts aren't discounted.
How booking works
- Pick a salon and menuChoose the service on the salon's page and request a date and time. Book at least a day or two ahead — most of these salons confirm within 1–2 business days, and SOONSIKI (both branches) and The Day's Hair ask for at least 2 days' notice.
- Pay a small depositYou pay only a deposit online (₩4,000–5,000 at most salons here, ₩20,000 at JUNO's Myeongdong 2nd branch). The rest is paid at the salon.
- Bring photosSave two or three photos of the style you want. It's the fastest way to agree on the look, whatever the language.
- Pay the balanceConfirm the final price before the service starts if anything changes (length, extra treatment). Tipping generally isn't part of the custom in Korea — just pay the agreed price.
Some salon pages show a "membership price" with "USD" next to a won amount (for example "1,600 USD"). That looks like a display error on the booking site — go by the deposit and menu prices instead.

- English menus and prices before you go
- Only a small deposit online
- Reviews from other visitors
- Most bookings aren't instant — allow 1–2 days
- Prices are shown in USD and move with the exchange rate
Tips for a Seoul salon visit
- Say no to extras if you don't want them. In the reviews we read, the most common complaint was pressure to add treatments — strongest at LEEKAJA (about 12 of ~50 reviews) and JUNO Myeongdong, where about 6 reviewers said the final price was higher than the Creatrip listing. Agree the total before they start.
- Bring photos, and use a translation app for details. Older reviews at SOONSIKI and The Day's Hair mention cuts coming out shorter or a different color when communication broke down. A photo plus Papago solves most of it.
- Curly hair? A couple of reviewers felt stylists had less experience with curly hair. Mention it when booking.
- Hongdae is the easiest base. Three of the English-friendly salons above are within about a 10-minute walk of Hongik Univ. Station. See where to stay in Seoul.
What reviewers say
We read 50–60 recent and low-rated reviews per salon on Creatrip and checked each salon's Naver Place page (all addresses match).
- SOONSIKI Hongdae: all 45 of the most recent reviews we read were 5 stars; detailed English consultation, plus tea and snacks during treatment.
- The Day's Hair: "everyone speaks English" comes up again and again; stylists check in at each step.
- #CCONTE Seogyo: fast (cut and color in 1.5–2 hours) and realistic color advice. Its Korean name is 샵꽁뜨 서교점.
- JUNO Myeongdong Street: friendly, explains its recommendations, massage-chair shampoo — but check the price on site.
- LEEKAJA Myeongdong: the head spa is the highlight; it drew the most upselling complaints of the five.
